PODCASTS

Speaking is one of my superpowers. Brevity, not so much. The solution? Put her on a podcast!

The Foreign Local Podcast (host)

Look, ma! I started a podcast!

Because apparently I’m not the only one who’s batshit crazy enough to have grown up abroad and then moved to Egypt as an adult. So, why not sit down and have candid conversations about our stories, our similarities, our differences, and our oddly particular experiences of life in the diaspora and life in Egypt?

Whether you’re an Egyptian based abroad or just someone curious about this particular brand of oddball, come! Grab a coffee. Pull up a chair. Listen in on some solid conversation.

You can listen to The Foreign Local on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. For a bit of my own story and what to expect on the podcast, you can listen to the trailer.

WHERE TO GO: THE TRAVEL PODCAST by DK Eyewitness

In another life, I ran an online travel magazine. In this life, RAOUI gets to work on fun stuff like travel guides and itineraries. While RAOUI worked on updating DK’s Eyewitness Egypt guidebook, I hopped on the podcast to talk about Egypt as a travel destination through my all-time favorite lens: people and culture.

You can listen to me wax lyrical about this country and the people who make it well worth experiencing on this episode of Where To Go on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

TA3MEYA FEL GHORBA | طعمية في الغربة بودكاست

All of Ta3meya Fel Ghorba’s guests are Egyptians living abroad – so what the heck was I doing over here? I’m used to sharing my story from a very particular angle, so this podcast flipped the script a little bit. It was also my first podcast partially done in Arabic. It was supposed to be entirely in Arabic but… well, I tried.

We had such a solid conversation that really challenged me to see my own story through such a different lens. We got into my reverse culture shock, living in a bubble, immersing yourself in wherever you live instead of holding on to your past life, and my unpopular opinion on the show Ramy. Sorry, not sorry.

You can catch this episode on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Anghami, and on YouTube where you’ll be staring at a red balloon because I refused to do a video podcast.

THE LIONS DEN

This is the podcast that started it all.

The Lions Den is a podcast about Christian Egyptian professionals doing cool and unconventional things, and apparently Fady Youwakim thinks I’m pretty cool. Aside from the fact that what I do for a living isn’t quite the doctor, engineer, or pharmacist – sorry, dad! – I also got to share my Egypt story and talk about how I made the move, why I made the move, and what the hell I’m doing now.

You can listen to the episode on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Google Podcasts.
